I'm Cameron Coral, and I write hopeful science fiction about robots who are trying their best, even when the world rejects them. Whether you're a long-time reader or just discovering my worlds, I'm thrilled to have you here.
I'm best known for Steel Guardian, the first book in the 6-book Rusted Wasteland series. It's a tale of an unlikely hero — a CleanerBot named Block who becomes the protector of a human baby in a post-apocalyptic world. This book holds a special place in my heart because it took second place in Hugh Howey's 2021 science fiction novel competition, the SPSFC.
In my stories, you'll find:

A nomad at heart, my adventures have taken me all over the U.S., to Canada, to China, and even as far as Australia and New Zealand. These experiences have shaped my worldview and enriched my storytelling.
My home is on a prairie in Northern Illinois, surrounded by trees, where I live with my husband and our "shorty" Jack Russell terrier rescue dog, Marty, who, let's be honest, runs the house. She's the boss! Our neighbors include more than a few wild turkeys and one very introverted groundhog.

Marty (the girl)
Marty is a Jack Russell Terrier who was rescued from an Oklahoma breeding mill. She's naturally shy and takes her time warming up to new people, always approaching life with a gentle caution that makes you respect her boundaries. You can see in her eyes that she's been through a lot, but she's found her safe place now.
Once Marty decides you're in her inner circle, though, watch out! Her personality really shines through – she's got these expressive little quirks and funny habits that make you smile. It's like getting to know a whole different dog when she finally lets her guard down. She is a sweet and funny girl.

She lives with her husband on an Illinois prairie surrounded by trees, where the household is ruled by Marty the Jack Russell terrier. Her neighbors include more than a few wild turkeys and one very introverted groundhog. When she’s not writing, she’s attending plays and concerts, volunteering, and enjoying lemon cookies from the local farmers’ market.
